The National Disabilities Rights Network hosted it’s national conference for Protection and Advocacy Systems in June of 2010 in Los Angeles CA.  This year, during a special plenary focused on work targeting abuse and neglect issues, DRMS received an award in recognition for the work that had been done specifically on the personal care home report as well as for the transformation the agency has undergone with the leadership of Executive Director Ann Maclaine, as well as all the staff who have lept right in and been motivated to work in a new direction. The award comes on the heals of a busy and challenging year and is a sign of even more hard work to come from this agency.
